Beat them the same way that they did to the animals! Those buttheads... Animal Abusers should be kept in jail until they shirvel up like old bananas.

You cut off an ear......cut off the man/woman's ear! You beat his legs paralyzed.... Well, you catch my drift. I have no compassion for anyone who mistreats animals, especially poor defenseless ones who caused nothing to deserve any of it. +

The punishment should parallel the degree of the abuse.

Animals have alot more protection now than ever before. People who abuse poor defenseless animals are sad, sick morans! Yes they should be punished! Their name, SS# put in the computor system, never to own any animal, and depending on the abuse, jail time!!!!And probation, and anger management classes.+5

Sorry I believe the horrors perpetuated upon any other species. (WHY do you only concern yourself with dogs and cats, don't other species feel pain, fear and terror?) They are not 'things'. Have you seen what vivisectionists do to pigs monkeys, rats, dogs cats, birds etc etc every single day? Maybe you should visit a few sites and make yourself look at what goes on in a slaughter house. Geeze to think one even has to ask the question. Humans should die or spend life in prison for knowingly hurting torturing another being regardless of species. That is why there are groups out there trying and trying to make others wake up to what is being done.

No, it should never go unpunished. They should spend at least three years in jail and pay a hefty fine which would go to a fund to help abused animals. If the abuse was really bad, then more time should be tacked on. It's ridiculous when people take advantage of helpless living beings and get slapped on the hand.

It definitely should not go unpunished. More often then not, it's a sign of a damaged mind. It's how killers start, and I think that with whatever punishment goes along with it counseling should be a big part of it. The kind of counseling that killers get, to try to prevent said person from going down that road.

Jeffrey Dahmer started practicing on cats and dogs in his parent's basement while still in school. If he'd been treated then, would they have found human heads in his refrigerator? I think the first step needs to be acertaining whether the abuse stems from mental illness or from just plain being a mean little sh**. From there we can decide whether they should do a few years in jail (depending on the severity of the abuse), or a few years in a hospital. However, we have to be careful that we don't step into defining everything as abuse so that people can't train their animals either. An untrained, undisciplined animal usually ends up being put down, and that should not be the intent of the law.
