  • Go to the local gun shop and purchase a speed loader for your specific model. There are two major types. One type has a level on the top of the speed loader, which you twist as soon as you line up the cartridges into the cylinder. The other type is a spring mechanism and you line up the first couple of cartidges and then push the rest of the loader across the cylinders. Regardless of which type you purchase, it takes practice to perform a speed reload of a revolver.
  • Well, the fastest way is to do a "New York Reload" whereupon you drop the empty revolver and pull out the second, loaded revolver you brought with you.
  • with a speed loader
  • They have clips that hold your six shots so you can speed load the thing. I keep my .357 loaded with my dad's old .25 caliber semi-auto so I can use all 16 rounds if needed. If I cannot stop an intruder with those 16 shots, hopefully my wife has her .38 ready by then so I can reload. I do not have speed loaders for the revolver, but another 10 round clip for the .25.
