    In 1980, where they had their records deleted because of ineligible student-athletes records would have made it 18 (through 2009).

    As per CBS DURING the FINAL four game, UNC vs. Oklahoma on 3/29/2009 at 5:55pm,

    UCLA, 17 final four appearances.
    UNC, 17 final four appearances.

    15 - UCLA (Plus in 1980, where they had their records deleted because of ineligible student-athletes records. That would have made it 16) 1962-2006
    14 - Duke 1963-2004
    13 - Kentucky 1942-1998
    11 - Kansas 1940-2003
    9 - Ohio St 1939-1999
    8 - Indiana 1940-2002
    8 - Louisville 1959-2005
    6 - Arkansas 1945-1995
    6 - Cincinnati 1959-1992
    6 - Michigan St. 1957-2005
    6 - Oklahoma St. 1945-2004

    As of today (3/16/06), here are the top 5 schools in Final Four visits:

    North Carolina - 16
    UCLA - 15
    Duke - 14
    Kentucky - 13
    Kansas - 12

    since all of these schools are in this year's tourney, those number could go up by one if any of them reach the Final Four next weekend.
