  • I think the property owner should have the right to decide whether pets are permitted and their decision should be respected :)
  • It sounds like you are sort of sub-letting from your parents. Whatever rules your parents are under fall on you. If there is no pets allowed, then you can't have a pet in the apartment. They may be nice about it because you have a nice dog or cat or snake, but they have every right to make you get rid of it or move out. If someone else who lives there sees it or hears it and they say, how come he gets to have a pet, then the HOA would have to make you get rid of it. It's just not fair to everyone. Some people may live there just because they don't want pets around.
  • i had a similur problem when my family moved up to Washington from California into an town home.. The town home did Not alow dogs but the allowed cats.. I have a 10 year old (in human years) Shih tzu shes only 9 pounds and an indoor dogg. We talked to the Office managers and they agreed that we could have my dog in the apartment but we would not be getting our safety deposit back.. Maybe you can work something out like i did good luck to you
  • You have to abide by the apartment managers requests. One of the appealing things to a renter is a 'pet free' environment and that is something that shouldn't be taken lightly.
  • The association rules will not allow you to have a pet and the owner of the apartment (your parents)signed an agreement when they bought the apartment that no pets would be allowed on the poperty regardless of who was living there.Sorry but your parents should take your dog to their home because you can not legally have the dog.
