Question

We received 6 months of free internet service when we bought our computer. My underage son filled out the information. AOL is saying that he owes money as it was not properly cancelled, we thought it was. Are we responsible for the bill?

Yes - you cannot argue now that your son was 'not of age' to enter an agreement. You assumed responsibility when you accepted the de facto arrangement by moving to cancel the agreement originally AFTER the probationary period was almost up - basically you will be regarded as 'enjoying the fruits' of the deal and so will not be let off the hook for paying them...but as I am NOT an attorney, you might want a second opinion.
