Whats a cheap plane ticket website, i only have maybe 600 to spare to go to georgia this thanksgiving and it cant be all on plane tickets?

It depends on what kind of airfare you are looking... If you are looking for a general website for prices, I personally like http://www.kayak.com/ or http://www.sidestep.com/ If you are looking for discount short-hauls in Europe, you should use http://www.skyscanner.net/ or http://www.europebyair.com/ to see what the smaller European airlines are offering, since they don't all get on the major systems. Be aware that you should always read the websites information for each airline as they don't always have the same baggage limits or may even charge for luggage. If you are looking on doing a trip around the world, the best company for this is http://www.airtreks.com/ because they specialize in this specific type of one-way airline ticket.

I like using some of the well-known search engines like kayak.com or sidestep.com to get a baseline of prices then once I find a compatible flight, I go direct to the airlines to book. Using an outside source has some upsides but also some downsides including if you get stuck somewhere, you may be less likely to get help from the airline than had you booked with them direct. Just my experience.

I like to go to a popular place like travelocity or Yahoo travel and find out which airline is cheapest, then go to that airline's website. I find more flight choices at the best price that way.

You might also try the travel section (usually Sunday) of any big city newspaper (gasp, what's a newspaper?). They almost always have small ads by consolidators-you'll have to do it by phone but I've had good luck.
