I have a 1990 bmw 525i, I just replaced my battery, my tail lights won't go out

    Geeze, I know it's a little late but I just fixed this on a friends car and will answer for future posterity. Behind your break pedal is a switch... press on the pedal with your hand and you will feel it click. On the E34 BMWs, with age the pedal loosens up and moves away from this switch. I stuck a nickel to mine with some glue. You could probably just wrap a little tin foil on it or perhaps loosen the switch and pull it out slightly. Very easy fix and it won't kill your batteries anymore!
