The starter or solenoid on my 96 Voyager, recently started acting up. Turn the key and I just get that click. Battery is fully charged too. I gotta turn the key on, get out,lay on my back, reach up under the front and jump across the solenoid and starter terminals. Sometimes it starts right up . Even when it doesn't start if I get the starter to turn just a bit, I can get up, get in, turn the key and it starts. Seems like it does this every morning, after that it usually starts any time even if it sits several hours, but the next morning same thing. There have been a few times when it just sits a few minutes, like a quick in and out at a store, and it won't start. What you should do is get somebody to check your battery make sure it is really charged, your starter connections make sure power is getting to the starter, and then check the solenoid and starter. Or do what I do, find the terminals or get somebody to show them to you, get a pair of insulated needle nose pliers, and an old jacket to wear while laying on the ground. ( The starter is on the front center under side of the engine. The terminals are on the passenger side end of the solinoid[the smaller cylendar on top of the larger cylendar that is the starter. The terminalslook like bolts with wires attached at the solinoid end one of them has a short rubber tube on it that you can pull off. With the key fully on, not in start position jump across the terminals, don't let the sparks scare you.. If it turns the starter the solinois or wiring is probably shot, if it just clicks or does nothing, the whole starter is probably shot. I really oughta get a new starter or a solenoid if it is sold seperatly, but this is about the only exercise I get anymore.

I had the exact same problem. It's the Starter Motor and the easiest way to confirm it is to tap the starter with a small hammer or something similar a few times - it will then turn over and start your engine. Don't BASH it - hit it with about the same force as if you were cracking a walnut.
