LOL! Creative use of logic there, RFlagg :)

RFlagg, I'm going to say it again; You are brilliant! Of course this time I mean it sincerely :)

This question is ingenious.

I think its like the time I decided to become a Satanist. I figured I'd be as terrible at doing that as I am at doing everything else. So - if I screwed up at being a Satanist, I'd be doomed to an eternity in Heaven.....

Nice research man, i dont know why we didnt think of it earlier. :)

They can claim that homosexuality is "unnatural" because they feign ignorance. Moreover, natural to them is the desire to repent sin and not commit oneself to it. This then creates the problem of validation. Even if homosexuality were a natural sin, it would also be normal to change it in order to bring oneself up out of sin and prepared for the kingdom of heaven. But since numerous events have shown, homosexuality is more often than not a character aspect that is not easily changeable and therefore the dogma itself is dangerously exclusive against homosexuals as being irreparably sinful. If someone is irreparably sinful, then how are those sins paid for? Only with eternal suffering. I think that such a dogmatic approach to anything is unnatural and that excluding a class of people from the kingdom of heaven is downright sinful.

Ahhhhh THERE'S the crunch! Well said! or Asked...you know what I mean! Unless "they" want to proclaim that GOD is unnatural too...(I personally wouldn't suggest doing THAT!) I would bet you made God laugh today....::::listening for sounds of a heavenly.... B I N G O! We have a winner here folks...from above

People pick & chose what is a sin. I can swear that I will be in hell long before anyone for being gay.

Your logic is creative but still untrue. Scripture says that humans were created in God's image, which is to say perfect and free of all sin. Humans were duped into disobeying God and now suffer the effects of that indiscretion. That sin (original sin) is present from birth in all humans but that doesn’t make it natural. Homosexuality is a sin, just like envy, or greed, or any one of thousands of other sins. ALL of those sins are unnatural. All of those sins are a testimony to our need for a Savior. The good news is that Jesus died for our sins (including homosexuality) so that we can join him in Heaven with God. Of course, you do have to believe that statement and turn away from your sinful, worldly pursuits in order to accept that gift of grace.

Your question begs for the definition of unnatural. Given that, what do Christians mean when they use the word? What do you mean? The dictionary gives you these options for interpretation: Take your pick. 1. contrary to the laws or course of nature. 2. at variance with the character or nature of a person, animal, or plant. 3. at variance with what is normal or to be expected: the unnatural atmosphere of the place. 4. lacking human qualities or sympathies; monstrous; inhuman: an obsessive and unnatural hatred. 5. not genuine or spontaneous; artificial or contrived: a stiff, unnatural manner. 6. Obsolete. lacking a valid or natural claim; illegitimate.
-
Simple- by claiming that homosexuality is unnatural, they are claiming that everything is unnatural. Since God made mankind in his own image, and God made both men and women, God is a hermaphrodite. If God loves us all, men and women alike, then God is bisexual. God is a bisexual intersex person. In this country, God would not be allowed to get married. It's too sacred an institution for God.
-
Christians can claim it is unnatural because God made nature - and if He says it's unnatural, then you can bet your bottom dollar it's unnatural. Certainly, via the spirit and conscience he gave me, it beats on me as unnatural. Further, holy writ itself clarifies that via the Fall of Adam, all men became sinful and carnal before God. We now tend towards being carnal, sensual and devilish. ONLY a Secure focus on Christ will lead us in the truly natural way and lead our paths back to God.

The same way that one would teach that Adultury and Fornication are sins. Man and woman were created in such a way so that they could reproduce and fill the earth. Ideally, children fair better when they have both a loving father and mother. Therefore, God's law was that sex was to be enjoyed between married persons only. The scriptures that condemn homosexuality, also condemn sex outside of marriage.

I don't know why myself. I guess they can use any reason to justify their bigotry.

It's obvious that the person who posed this question is only looking for someone to agree with his/her. If someone doesn't accept the Bible as the word of God, why are they so concerned? BTW...It has been well established that the Bible we have today is authentic. The meaning has not been altered. If there was a scribal error or say someone added a verse to support their own preconceived ideas, there are plenty of old manuscripts and old copies of the Bible in various languages that can be compared and the error can be removed. Actually, this has happened in a couple of instances since the finding of old schrolls (Dead Sea Scrolls) for instance. VEW

First of all, "view573"'s comment that the Bible is authenticated is wishful thinking. Many , many scholars and theologians comment on the mystery of these ancient texts. You have only to play a game of "Telephone" to see how things can get misinterpreted easily. To view the Bible as inerrant, or as the "Word" of some deity is patently ridiculous. It's the WORDS of SOME people, written at a specific place and time. DO NOT use the Bible as a basis for any decision making about sexuality. These are the same people who wanted people stoned for disobeying their parents. ( or maybe the kids got stoned just to PISS OFF their parents! : ) Homosexuality is fine. It's always been part of humankind. Ask any gay person who's really thought about it. Why spread more unhappiness by condemning what a person is thru no fault of his own? Ignore all dogma. Think independently.
