On average, why do women seem to be more analytical than men?

It's actually the other way around, men on average are are more analytical than women. Men make decisions based on their analysis of the facts, while women make decisions based more on feelings or "womens' intuition".

Just because women tend to read more into a thing than what's really there doesn't make them more analytical. It makes them tricky to deal with, and that's all.

Analytical? Well there are millions of scientists, accountants, engineers that are male and that requires deep analytical traits. Women are more discerning about behavior is all. That may have to do with her role as a future mother.

well how the heck else are we gonna figure out what our man is up to? Its not like he is just gonna walk up and tell the truth!!! And he sure as heck isnt gonna tell us how he feels....

Check out all the research on acting on feeings. Start with Myers Briggs. Women act on feelings rather than facts way more often than men. Is this less analytical ? Perhaps not, its just means they analyse a different set of data i a different way. Good question though :-)
