  • I suffer suppression.
  • i suffer from depression, i know the reasons, why, but can not change it. I suffer, and ask myself, why have i been given a mind like i do, only to suffer the whole life, while others have fun and enjoy it. I can't. tried many times and always fail in doing so.

  • I have suffered oppression. Well at least my ancestors have.
  • on and off for the last 8 years. hard times!
  • I do and its a horrible illness :( .. but i think when you yourself recognise it as such .. an illness, it becomes easier to manage and you dont punish yourself for feeling the way you do. Being 'diagnosed' can therefore have a positive effect i think, although my personal experience sometimes is that even professionals can sometimes stigmatize sufferers. :)
  • I have family members who do. I always wonder if there is something I can do to make them feel positive and hopeful.
  • More than you think Tink. Depression can be transient. What I mean by that is that sometimes, depression is caused by something particular going on in your life, i.e., the loss of a loved one. Once you work out the grief stages, the transient depression caused by the loss will go away. Then there is another of kind of depression that takes quite a bit longer to overcome. There are quite a lot of good medications out there. I would tell you not be afraid to try them. Why be a martyr and suffer if you can take a pill and the world seems better. I will caution you however, that if you ever feel that you are in real danger of hurting yourself or someone else, you need to tell someone. Good luck! If you have any more questions, I would be more than happy to talk. I have been diagnosed with depression associated with chronic pain. There are bad days and good days. For me, now, the good days are more. :)
  • Something like one in four will suffer from depression in their lifetime. Make sure you research any drugs your doc prescribes and choose to take them if you think they'll help. Choosing to seek help is the first big step and probably the hardest, best of luck in the future. I'll think positive thoughts for you.
