I would go with the tread mill I think you can get a much better work-out
-
I do better on a treadmill, due to hip injuries in a car accident several years ago.
-
I like my stationary bike!!!!
-
I'll go with the treadmill.
-
I use both. One or the other to warm up on. Then onto the Wave Machine and Cross Country skiing machines before I hit the rowing which I am not keen on.
-
No, thanks.
-
Personally, the treadmill. Several reasons: 1) I get bored more on the bike, since my upper limbs are doing nothing and I find it less of an effort. 2) I find I can concentrate more on the msuic from my mp3 player on the treadmill, perhaps because I can often run in time to the beat. but most importantly 3) The treadmill gives a far better workout. On the bike, you aren't having to oppose gravity, you are sat on a seat, and all you are doing is pushing your legs around in circles, with minimal other muscles used. On a treadmill, you are having to move your entire body weight as you run, you use your entire leg muscles, backside and abdominals for balance, upper limbs and chest for swinging your arms to counter balance your legs, and most importantly the increased workload means you exercise your heart and lungs more, plus you will burn more calories running on a treadmill than you will cycling on a bike for the same legnth of time.
-
I don't like the stationary bike it makes me feel lazy. I don't know why.
-
I do the stationary bike when it's my only option but I prefer the treadmill.
-
under my present physical condition, i must say Stationary bike. w/MS. i find it difficult enough to walk, let aloneattempt to walk on a treadmill...
-
Stationary bike. Still get a decent cardio workout, and you can read a book while doing it!
-
Stationary bike! Do it atleast one hour a day!
-
I like the treadmill better.
-
Tread mill hands down. You burn 2x as many calories in half the time
-
Treadmill. Although I'd much prefer jogging/running outside and REAL biking!
-
Actual biking, or if I couldn't go outside, the stationary bike.
-
Treadmill is my favorite! But I have found that since I use the treadmill exclusively, when I attempt to use other machines like the stationary bike, I do very poorly and don't get a effective workout. I am starting to throw is some variety during the winter months so my fitness will be more well rounded.
-
I prefer a treadmill over a stationary bike when at home. I feel like I'm doing more. I guess because I'm having to stand and do it. If I were going to a spinning class, I guess I might prefer the bike because it burns more calories.
-
depends on the intensity,i prefer the treadmill myself but i actually tone more from the bike!. Doing both, alternating, is the best for your workout because you are working different muscles and it gives your workout variety :)
-
Treadmill hands down. I feel lazy when I use a stationary bike.
-
Treadmill....I hate the stupid bikes :)
-
treadmill
-
Bed
-
Yeah, i'm going to go with running outside is the ultimate benefit; but treadmill otherwise.
-
Treadmill.
-
I prefer treadmill..:D
-
I think that it really depends on what you enjoy most. Obviously if you do a sport than involves a lot of running, then treadmill is probably best. But for general endurance, cycling is great too. Maybe cycling has less impact on joints, so may be better in the long term. But ultimately, do what feels best for you.
-
treadmill gives you a much better workout. i personally hate stationary bikes, they just get me fatiqued quicker. another good tip for treadmill exercise is to change the speed up alot, to get your heart rate up & your blood pumping. i personally put on a show i've tivo'd & will watch it without fast forwarding thru the commercials, because i'll walk at a 4.0 speed during the show & run at 6.3 during commercials. it's worked wonders, within a month my legs looked amazing doing it 5 days a week for 30 minutes.
-
treadmill your whole body is into it...
-
I walk the path through the woods, there is no room for exercise machines in my house.
-
Neither: Real bike and make it challenging.
-
stationary bike.
-
Kayak!!...
-
When I'm not exercising outside-sometimes treadmill, sometimes Swinn Airdyne (gets a bit of upper body in also)
-
Treadmill
-
Actually neither I prefer the cross trainer.
-
Treadmill!
-
Treadmill is the better exercise machine.
-
treadmill. i find the stationary bike uncomfortable.
-
Treadmill :) !
-
Either one for a warm up but mix cardio into weight training and you will win...for example if you do a set on the shoulder press, do 10 pushups before your next set with very litte recovery time..build muscle, build endurance, lose fat. have fun
-
Treadmill. Or else, I'll ride a bike outside!
-
treadmill but i prefer the elliptical honestly
-
Treadmill!
-
Of the two I'd have to say treadmill. You'll work out more muscle groups with it. Though, I'm a fan of the elliptical
-
Stationary Bike! mAKES A GOOD FAN IN THE SUMMER.
-
Neither, I can never get anywhere on either of those things, no matter how fast I go!
-
Treadmill! Because of the variety of movements and elevations. But, alternating between the both would be optimum. Abs-olutely, Dion
-
treadmill
-
I use both, interval on the treadmill, I like bursts of intensity but cant manage it all through the 15 min session, and the bike because I feel I can sustain a constant rate...it works for me
-
I find that a treadmill is the best its good for stamina because you can increasae the slope also although you can increase endurance with a bike with a treadmill you can also workout the muscles in ones armes which makes it a full body workout
-
Both workouts are great. The benefits of walking and jogging on a treadmill is that you are using your own body weight and that will burn more calories. The great thing about cycling is that it is easier on the joints than running/jogging. Try to combine them one day and create your own duo-training workout in the the cardio room. Cycle for 20 minutes and then get on the treadmill for 20 minutes, or vice versa! Always make sure that you stretch afterwards to avoid injury. The most important thing is that you enjoy whichever activity you are doing, so that you stick with it! Good Luck!!
-
Neither. Nothing beats a walk outside.
-
For best results: BOTH! Dion Jackson Summer 2998
-
Both would be best but if you can only pick one I would pick the treadmill :)
-
Treadmill. You can challenge yourself to being better and faster.
-
I do both, and I find the treadmill is a much better work out.
-
Running on the TREADMILL is hard to beat. =)
-
tredmill to see how far I can run, stationary bike for general workout without ruining joints, swimming to really improve overall tone.
-
Stationary bike...treadmill is deceptive; it doesnt really use the muscles the same way as actual running, so its easy to be duped into thinking your fitness level is one thing when in fact its really not. Stationary bike is very similar to real biking...same muscles used the same way.
-
As long as you are NOT holding the handlebars you will burn more calories on the treadmill than the stationary bike. Also if you are short on time you can do HIT and burn twice as many calories in a short period of time.
-
I say stationary bike, but I'm probably biased because I'm a cyclist...why not go for a run or a ride? Actually, my favorite time to go for a run/cycle is in the pouring rain. Don't ask me why.
-
Treadmill. The best exercise machine. I have a treadmill and I use it everday. Its very helpful :)
-
Treadmill
-
I really prefer an elliptical machine.
-
Treadmill if you up the intensity. Bike to keep impact low on knees. Myself, I prefer the ellyptical.
-
Treadmill can work your stomach and your arms, vey slighty, but a Stationary Bike works your legs and slightly your stomach, but why cant you go run on the road, with a treadmill it does half the job for you, Treadmill (running anywhere) can help t loose fat Stationary bike helps to tone Personally the stationary bike it takes less space, and with the tread mill (running) you can do that on the road
-
Tread-mil. for me it seems i can burn a lot more calories on a tread-mil for the same energy spent
-
Go treadmill if you are young and had no injuries....if you are older USE THE BIKE. Bikes are a lot easier on your joints
-
Treadmill, it's gotta be. Bikes are too stationary and monotonous, and the seat hurts my arse.
-
Neither. Personally I think you get a better work out walking/running in the park or in your neighborhood.
-
Treadmill hands down. It simulates walking which is a completely natural motion. Exercise bike can be hard on knees, mine anyway. Hiking is cool too but if it's snowing out get yourself a treadmill.
-
I prefer treadmill but dont have room for one. So Im stuck with bike for the time being. It does the job.
-
Dreadmill...though neither takes you too far.
-
Providing there are no physical issues, simply mix it up. Workouts should always be mixed. Bike one day, treadmill the next, etc. If you have knee or hip problems, stick with the bike. Less risk for injury.
-
Treadmill when you start running and know its going to be a long run but you finsh it, it feels like such a achievement as though you have been on a journey.
-
If you're a gym rat like me you'll use both. They use different movements so both machines help. They obviously work the leg muscles, but if you really want a good workout use both machines. I usually start out running a mile on the treadmill at the fastest pace i can go, then I go straight to the bike for ten minutes, with no break. For overweight people I recommend walking a mile on the treadmill, then going on the bike after. Well, I was once fat, but I stuck to this exercise routine and you know what? IT WORKED! If I had to pick a favorite though, then it would be the treadmill!!
-
i think a treadmill is a much better work out then then the staionary bike you can set much better programs to your fitness span with pushes you to finish your program required i no i have both at home and when it comes to choicing i chose the treadmill everytime as it is better and more fun:)
-
Stationary bike..... at least I can sit down while I exercise!
-
I use both, like a duathlon, run, bike, run, bike back to back with no rest. and keep the intensity high
-
Of the two the treadmill will give a much better cardio workout..however the Bike is probably much more practicle for individuals..
-
I will go with the treadmill.
-
I will take the bike.
-
Bike is better for your knees. I like running more but it has killed my knees over the years. As an aside, sex can always be a fun workout:)
-
Walk in the open!
-
I alternate.
-
treadmill: you can set a speed and make urself stick w/it...because if not you'll fly off ;) but on the bike you are more tempeted to slow down and not do ur best also on treadmill you can powerwalk--whick is realy good excersise (especilay for ur butt). If you set the treadmill at an inclide and good pace it is very tough excersise alternitive of running.
-
Neither - I like the elliptical machines best!
-
Staionary bike, i think i burn more calories
-
Treadmill.
-
Its your preference, which do you choose?
