I had a mutt, Hungry Jack, that got run over by a car, (tire tracks across mid-section) and all. The driver came and got me (I was 17). H.J. couldn't walk. The poor lady was SO upset, and said she would pay to put him down, (she was crying and everything). I said I wanted to try and save him, even tho' he couldn't walk. For 3 days, we fed and babied him, but he still would growl and wouldn't move. Then, on the 4th day, we got up, and he was running around the back porch! Unbelievable! He was a great dog! The lady who ran over him was so happy, too!

My dog Daisy's mom had a near death brush. My other dog, Manning, came to my aunt's door one morning looking worried. My aunt went outside to see what was wrong. Manning led her to a field near her house where Buddy, Daisy's mom, was lying unconscious in the grass. My aunt freaked out because she had a litter of puppies to care for and Manning just adored her. She took her inside the shed where she kept the kennels and gave her some milk but she was so unresponsive. Buddy was frozen and stiff with her back leg sticking out at an odd angle. My aunt just prayed and prayed and took care of her. Then about 5 hours later, Buddy recovered fully. She just got up like nothing ever happened. It was so weird. She is fine now and raised all 5 of her puppies. She is still doing well.

Our cat used to go prowling in the school fields beside our house. One day she didn't come back. We put up signs, we walked all over the area looking, but nothing. 3 or 4 days later, at about 2.30 in the morning, I woke up and said to my husband "Listen, Carina is outside." she was. She was very distressed. I think children picked her up and took her home, but she bolted the first chance she got. She NEVER went into the school again.

My cat out of the four was our house cat. She was my baby for about 9 years. Well one day in June I couldn't find her anywhere! She likes to hide so I wasn't to worried. Well the rest of the day went by and she still hadn't come out. We heard her mewing in the woods the next day ( I can tell the difference in each of my cats mews), apparantly she'd gotten out of the house. We searched the woods for a couple of weeks, she'd start yowling and we would start into the woods and she would stop! Then it stopped all together. I figured that since were in a very severe drought and she's blind and had no teeth that she was dead. Skip to just a few days ago, I went outside with a piece of cake that I was eating ( trying not to get caught, hehe) and I saw a black stump that looked like it had cat ears, so i walked closer and low and behold if it weren't my cat! She ran into the woods, and I've been feeding her and she's been on the porch. She won't come to anybody and I'm not positive its her, but it's all black, with one white leg, a white chest white pawtips and etc. Pretty positive its her!!! I'm so excited she's alive!

I had a Chihuahua named Diablo, he was an inside dog, we let him out a few times a day. One day he didn't come back as he usually did(we didn't leash him, because he just took leases and collars off, his neck was as thick as his head lol.) We called for him and called and he didn't come back.... he usually didn't even leave the yard. We searched up and down the road looking for him or even *gasp* a body.... He was no where to be found. Three days later he walked in the door and collapsed to the floor, his side was ripped open and he was bleeding. This was late friday and there was no vet open until monday(it's weird here). His upper layer skin was torn off in a patch about 2 inches wide and 4 inches long. We still don't know what happened. We cleaned him up and bandaged the sore. We fed him by hand and layed him in a box. He was weak and obviously hurting. My dad wanted to shoot him.... We gave him some antibiotics we had and Tylenol.(which is supposed to be safe according to the vet in a prior incident) By Monday the skin was growing back already.... I don't know how. I called the vet who said it was too late to do stitches and we could just keep doing what we were doing and either he would live or not..... Within two months the sore had almost completely closed itself and was growing hair... and he was up running around like always. It was amazing. He lived for a few years after that. He was the sweetest, most well-behaved dog and he never left the yard again. (He did die... a neighbor poisoned him while we had him in the kennel. I saw the neighbor feeding him chicken and I ran out and yelled at him(the neighbor was constantly threatening to kill the dogs because they bark)... I brought Diablo in and he died during the night. He survived something though that was seemingly unsurvivable. I still don't know what happened.

Sadie was run over,had tire tracks across tummy,and blood coming out of her nose!Thought for sure she would die.But about 3 days later she jumped over the bottom half of the door,to get out of the porch!She lived on for years to about 12!....2,We had moved for a job, and took our cat Tiffany.A few months later we moved back,but could not find him.2 weeks later we finally got back up there.I walked into the woods beside the house were we had lived.I called him and shook a bag of food.He came running.He was very hungery and glad to get home!!..3 )had dogs in the back yard they got out and ran off.I called them and 2 came right up.2 did not.I kept looking and calling.We thought we heard them several times.Finally my s/o saw him but he ran off into the woods.I got hot dogs and food and went back there calling.He barked like he was answering but was afraid.Finally I saw him standing on the edge of a big dry stream.As I got closer he was about to go down into it to hide,but I stopped and talked to him.Got him to smell the hot dogs pinched off pieces.Got him.He had been shot,lost a leg at the vet.But he got better!!People would be in the driveway he`d bark and run around inside the yard.After a few minutes they would say,"Hey that dog only has 3 legs!" He did not let it slow him down much!He was an inspiration,beautiful.I just lost him last year he was 13.Never found his brother.They were only 1 when it happened!
