  • Hi there, I've been an Escrow Officer within a Fortune 500 company for the last 8 years ( just fyi- I know the real answer). The "Commitment Fee" is the cost of the Title Report that the Escrow/Title or Lawyer needs in order to review the history of the property and provide you clear title. It's actually a very important report. You should have been given a copy of it no later than 5 days from the day you entered into the purchase contract. Call your Real Estate Agent or Title contact and have them go over it with you. Good Luck!
