  • Put your toe in some fude...:)
  • I have tried tofu so many times and have never had it prepared in a way I liked it. I frankly don't see the big deal about it. It was tasteless. I know it is supposed to take on the flavor of the dish it is in but I didn't think it did.
  • There are so many ways to cook it. YOu can press it and marinade it. YOu can smoke it and then stirfry it. It really does take on whatever flavor you want. I can make it taste like tuna or egg salad. For breakfast we've found if we slice it really thin, regular tofu, not the silken stuff. and place it in a bowl. Heat it a little bit in the microwave. Pour on some warm ample syrup and it tastes just like french toast without bread or eggs or dairy. Great for people with dietary restrictions like some of our family. We love it friend with other things in Pad Thai or in Chinese type soups. It's good tea-smoked, too.
  • If you don't particularly like the taste or texture of it, consider blending it and putting it into a soup. I make a cream of broccoli soup and a squash soup using tofu as a thickening agent. It is delicious and also adds a lot of protein to the meal.
  • My best recipe was to cube it 1" stirfry quickly add fried onion (cooked before) red pepper for extra pepper then add a quality curry sauce, yum yum.
  • I think even if you cook tofu with a good recipe, it will still have that taste. Tofu is really an aquired(Did I spell that right?) taste.
  • Just fry it with some soy sauce, add some ground pepper and you're good to go.
