Messed up, well definitely 'Aftershock'. I've seen all the original series' episodes, most a couple times. As you know, there isn't a crime committed in that episode, it does not fit the 30/30 standard. Also 'Mayhem', the one that Moriarty quit over is messed up because of that simple fact, again skirting the 30/30 rule. And finally 'Competence'. You probably sense a pattern here.. I don't watch any of the other series.. the original is the only real L&O to me.

I asked the question because I just finished watching "Indifference", a first-season original series episode based on the Lisa Steinberg case. (This is one of the rare occasions when, after the show but before the credits, they actually MENTION the headline that the show was 'ripped' from.) I swear, I have not been so disturbed by a TV show in QUITE some time, even when I watched the entirety of the anime series "Elfen Lied" in one or two sittings. Now THAT'S some demented, freaky sh*t. "Indifference" was very powerful and moving, and managed to inflame my "disembowel all child abusers with a rusty spork" inclination higher than usual. Which is a feat, I can tell you.

I can't watch SVU right before bed. Its my favorite among the Law and Orders, but I have nightmares involving my own children if I watch it righ before bed. Any of the child molester episodes are quite disturbing.
