  • Because its 95% water, and because its a vegetable and therefor will taste bitter unless you have weak tastebuds.

  • I never got that impression. Although it may have the nutritional value of water, it certainly is high on taste and is a favorite vegetable of mine to add to soups and pasta dishes that I cook. You could say that celery certainly does have a unique taste all to its own though.
