It all may boil down to semantics but perhaps being an opportunist isn't always a bad thing, as long as you don't step on other people to achieve your goal. I take you mean "user" as in someone who uses people to their advantage or to get ahead, that's not so commendable in my mind.

Very similar - An opportunist may inadvertently give back something. A user just takes and takes and takes.
