In lieu of the constant abuse of statistical data by the media, why isn't Statistics a required class for journalism majors?

yeah i think it should be a required course. many journalists mangle numbers these days.

People who have taken Statistics may still very well use false statistics. Knowledge of one thing does not imply it's proper use. I think that it would be beneficial for them to take Ethics, at some point, so that they don't knowingly change statistics. Again, though, just because someone has taken Ethics doesn't mean they'll be ethical, but it helps.
