  • You looking to kill the cat??
  • I wouldn't give a child childrens cough medicine since the FDA has come out against it's value last week.
  • You can, but please don't. If your cat's symptoms reseble that of a human's cold, please take the cat to see a vet. In fact before you ever administer any sort of medication (over the counter or not) to your cat, please see a vet.
  • Only if it's a real sick kiddy.
  • Years ago, our veterinarian told me to give our Siamese children's cold medicine, because he (the cat) had had the cold for about a week. As soon as I gave it to him, the cold cleared up. Note that this was under Veterinarian's orders, though!
  • no way you might kill the cat and how would you live with yourself? Would you take cat drugs? Didn't think so .... vet tomorrow I hope!
  • There is no reason to do that. Cats don't get human colds. Find out what is wrong with your cat and use medicine for that problem. Best thing to do is go to the vet.
  • NO NO NO. Take your cat to a vet and see what they say about this! Using any kind of medicine in a manner other than what it is intended for is dangerous. My stepdad, for instance, decided to try to give our cats DOG flea medication because he thought it would be cheaper.... And it poisoned one of them, almost to death.... It was terrible! The cat was hallucinating, freaking out, and eventually managed to escape and not return for days.
  • Anything with aspirin has been known to be lethal to a cat. I wouldn't excepting one herb------catnip
  • NO! Human medications will kill a cat. Cats do not get colds. Cats get Upper Respiratory Infections (URI) which is NOT a cold. Depending on the health of the cat and how the infection spreads it can kill a cat and especially sensitive are kittens and seniors. The vet needs to see the cat and give it antibiotics. It's very contagious so if you have other cats they will probably get it too. It has gotten serious if the eyes are watering or the cat is sneezing.
  • you need to ask the vet that question
