  • Yes, different classifications in sports did not happen due to discrimination ; it's based on scientific facts.
  • G'day Ash, Thank you for your question. Men are probably stronger than women overall. We are not tougher, though - after all, women give birth. Regards
  • I've never given birth. Women do. Therefore, I'm pretty sure that genetically, they're the tougher of the lot. Men wouldn't be able to handle that kind of pain.
  • I think once puberty is hit males are tougher on the outside, but woment are tougher on the inside...seriously you piss of a pregnate mother and see how she'll shread you apart lol ..piss of a father, and he will punch you pending on how many beers are in him.
  • I don't believe so. It all comes down to the individual, and gender-based generalisations are the worst kind of generalisations you can make. Think about it - when you say 'men are like this, women are like that', you're putting a label on more than three billion people. I know a lot of women who are stronger than me physically and mentally.
  • Although there are some strong women and some weak men, in general men are usually stronger, however, women usually have a higher endurance and are usually slightly tougher over all.
  • If early survival is any clue then YES! More males are created but by the first year females out number the males.
  • Do you really think it's all a social conspiracy to use science to keep men stronger? By their main function, women are meant to carry babies and reproduce, men are meant to hunt. If it wouldn't have been for that, Darwin's theory would've taken it's toll on human race and we wouldn't exist. Men are animals and lets not forget that. For the numbers here they are. Muscular tissue represent 40% of an adult man's weight VS 24% for women. That's straight from the developmental psychology book :"Les ages de la vie" p.242 Lets not get carried in the "discrimination" section just to NOT admit sexual differences between men and women. We have to look it in face and see a predisposition for men to be taller, stronger than women. BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN that women cannot train to become stronger than an average man, but at equal training, men will be stronger than women. Physically that is. Men and Women are EQUAL in rights, not in genetics.
  • They are each tougher than each other in different ways... Males will -in general- be physically stronger than Women due to the much higher levels of Testosterone, which stimulates skeletal and muscle growth to become 'physically' stronger. (That is to say, when a male hits puberty they generally tend to gain larger muscles without having to work out - a Female would generally need to work out to have the same results) In my experience, Females tend to -in general- be stronger mentally or emotionally/socially (which can both be linked back to mentally really). (Interestingly, after doing a quick look around on Google, Oestrogen, which is vital for healthy brain functions, is found in far larger quantities in women than in men... So maybe this is why : D ) ***** Anyway, when you're speaking about hormones and genes (in this case, the genes lead to the hormones), you tend to be speaking in very generalised terms. There are always exceptions to all of the things I've said, sometimes they can be quite significant or widespread ones, but nonetheless, it seems that Males will be stronger 'Physically', and Women will be stronger 'Mentally'. ***** Though as some people have mentioned, we never have to go through the ordeal of child birth... ***** As for being 'tougher', that's really just based off personal thresholds, not genes.
  • For their size, women are very strong in the lower body, men moreso in the upperbody. Women supposedly have a higher pain tolerance, too.
  • Physically
  • Men are usually physically stronger. Women are usually more resilient and live longer.
