  • I have not been to court, but have seen someone I know go through a yearlong court battle. He didn't do any of the things he was charged with, and still got 5 years. During the year long court battle, him and his wife were pulled over about 15 times combined, and harrassed in different ways. For example, he got pulled over for "stalking" her because he was following her somewhere. She got pulled over for "not stopping long enough at a stop sign" Than, at the next stop sign, the same officer pulled her over for "stopping too long". As a teenager I reported several people for drunk driving, including my dad 3 or 4 times, and the cops didn't do a thing. I understand that there are good people involved in the legal process, and I have met a few of them, but in my area, I do not thing that they make up a majority. I have seen too many people let out when they should have been in for life, and people go in for life, when they shouldn't have even been in prison. I can't remember what state it was (kansas I want to say) but they ran the DNA evidence in 11 death row cases that were several years old, and cleared something like 8 out of those 11. People have personal Bias, and the legal system is made out of people. okay. I'm done with my rant for the moment.
  • I was a witness in an assault case. It went okay, but it was harrowing for me, as the lawyer drilled me. I also went to my sis in law's AVO case (against her violent husband). That was horrible watching her cry. She is such a nice person. And watching him lie his eyes out. But the judge saw through him and granted the AVO.
