The Yankees will miss him.I am not a NY Yankees fan though he was a good manager for them.

a good and valid question, but if you are a Joe Torre fan, I'm thinking he'll be back to work soon if he wants to be. If you are a yanks fan, I don't think your in for a good year; Sorry just my opinions.

I won't miss him as NYY manager. I'll miss him if he is out of baseball altogether, but I don't expect he will be. Hopefully he ends up at another class organization with lots of history - Cubs, Cardinals, Tigers, etc.. Either that, or managing my beloved Astros.. but I'm not holding my breath. ;)

I won't miss him as much as I will Mariano Rivera or Robinson Cano.

I would if I were a Yankee fan. He seemed to be a good Manager and I'm sure that will prove to be a wrong move in the long run. Yankees didn't do too poorly under him as I recall.

He was one of the only things I have ever liked about the Yankees, (probably because they ALWAYS stomp my Rangers). I think the Steinbrenner braintrust (Ha!) is making a huge mistake.

I'm not a Yankee fan, so they might suck without him at the helm. I bet all we hear about for the next 6 months is the Yankees latest soap opera - BLAH!

I won't. I'm happy. As a Boston fan I am sure I won't have to worry about the Yankees for a while now. What a mistake. Wow. Is it Halloween or Christmas?

im a huge yankee fan and i love joe torre..but we havent won a world series since 00' so getting girardi in as manager was a necessary change...if it were me though who had to choose i would have picked donnie baseball! we'll always miss torre, but maybe it was his time
