I recently ahd such an experience. I was operating a small backhoe. This machine was on crawler treads and was top heavy. It itpped over and fell on my leg, pinning me to the ground. Felt like my leg was broken but not quite. I managed to operate the swing arm of the machine and lever it up enough to remove my leg. Then I skidded along on my butt for 500 yards to my truck, managed to climb into the truck and drive an hour and a half to a hospital. That was scary. Telling about it now makes it sound rather simple but believe me, at the time I was scared. Suffered a severely crushed foot, which is healing pretty well. Now can walk with out assitance but foot is still swollen. So yes, I was stranded far away and had to help myself.
