I think people deserve the points that others give them, yes. Those who give the points are the ones making the decision to award them, not the questioner.

No I don't think that they should get a positive score for non questions.. although there have been congratulations for people who have reached certain levels and those do not really bother me.

I hate when people post things on AB that aren't in the form of a question. The whole point of this site is to ask questions.

If enough people like the "question", sure. Why not? It's not like anyone loses anything when other stuff gets uprated a lot.

I think there are certain exceptions that should be made.

I've seen some truly silly, unworthy questions (and non-questions) that got 100+ points, but I just shrug my shoulders and move on to questions I like. It doesn't really bother me to see people get points they don't really deserve. It does bother me to see people unfairly downrated.

All those ridiculous "congratulations" pseudo-questions are the biggest blight on this site.
