As far as I can tell, the carbolfuchsin, when steamed, would stain the endospore green, the decolorizing would leave the cell clear, and the counter stain of nigrosin, which is used as a negative stain, would stain the background dark.
What is the difference between normal flora and transient bacteria found on the skin?
