no 'bill' would have joined the U.N. in sending a note to them saying how naughty they were!
-
No. we would probably be in hell.
-
Yes. He tried to pass both Homeland Security and the Patriot Act while he was in office.
-
Bill Clinton never came across as a war monger, and I think that he would have not entered Iraq at all,for he would have realized the folly of that decision.
-
If Bill was President I think you would be in Iran rather than Iraq.
-
We'd be in Iraq but on a much smaller scale and probably more so in Afghanistan in order to quickly catch Osama up there and in the North-West Frontier Territories too.
-
Who knows. He couldn't get Bin Laden. He tried to pass a Patriot act, too. The Bushes and Clintons have been so strongly tied together for so long. I think if Hillary's elected, it will just be SSDD. Clintons = Bush - cut from the same mold, incestuous political relationships. Do you know how many times Clinton went to the Bush ranch during his presidency? People liked Bill Clinton, he was charismatic and popular. However, his politics/policies/and even some of his advisors weren't all that different than either of the Bushes, when you get right down to it. (Strip away Dubya's right-wing Christian nonsense.) Anyway, just my opinion. I could, of course, be wrong.

He never took effective action against any other assault, and there were several. But, I think that like the Congress, blood lust and public pressure would have forced a response to Saddam's refusals to the UN. After you start a war, especially an ideological one against unspecified enemies, you take it to its conclusion OR tuck your tail between your legs and go home. There is no middle ground.

If Bill were still President during 9/11, he would have waved the white flag and we'd be having car bombings on every street in America.
-
No, we would be in mosques praying.

I don't think we would be in Iraq. I could be wrong. What else would be I haven't a clue. But I gotta say - the caliber of replies to this question is disturbing. Are all Muslims bad and/or guilty of 9-11 or suicide bombings? Did Bush make the right decision to attack... anyone brown skinned, non-Christian, sitting on a heap of oil, or who pissed off the US in the passed? Clinton's military record was a pretty bad one, for sure. He made some mighty stupid choices on that front. But going into Iraq on extremely flimsy evidence of WMD (if you want to be charitable) or outright lies (if you don't) has got to be one of the most tragically stupid decisions in US military history. And one that's cost many, many lives and shit-loads of money. Clinton's bad military record was at least one hell of a lot cheaper on both fronts.

911 will never ever happen.

I'm not sure 9/11 would have happened under Clinton. The FBI and NSA had warnings of an impending Al Queda attack in the U.S. but didn't connect all the dots. I suspect Bush and Condaleeza Rice were asleep at the switch. I don't think Clinton would have attacked Iraq. Except for the neocons that Bush brought into the government, the consensus among our military and intelligence authorities was that though Saddam Hussein was a nuisance, he was not a major threat to the region of to us. The real Al Queda threat was in Afganinistan and Pakistan. I think any other President at the time would have focused our military efforts in those countries to fight Al Queda and go after Osama Bin Laden. The neocons had Bush make a detour to Iraq. I think it was a major blunder.

If Bill CLinton was President he'd bombed a milk Factory! after 9-11.
-
The words straight from all of the Democrats seem to say that we would have at some point. There was more than one occasion while I was in the military when we were briefed on the situation in Iraq and the real possibility of deploying there (during the Clinton administration). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5p-qIq32m8&feature=related

I think we would be at war somewhere. Maybe not Iraq. But definately somewhere in the middle east as Clinton did say the next pres. would have to deal with the m-e. Do you know which president deployed our troops most often (before Iraq war)? Bill Clinton.

If the President is all powerful...I don't know If the money is all powerful...yeah, most probably.
