    Frances Bean Cobain. Contrary to popular belief, she was not named Frances after the actress Frances Farmer. She was named Frances for a friend of Kurt and Courtney's by the name of Frances McKee (of Scottish band The Vaselines). Bean came from a comment that Kurt made about how she looked like a "bean" on the ultrasound screen.
