My guess is you're using silver membership (if you haven't paid anything for membership thats what's wrong). if thats the case, either go buy a card (you can buy them anywhere from radio shack to 711) or use your credit card to pay for it.

Why do i need to buy the Xbox router if i want wireless online play? cant i just hook up a separate router and an Ethernet cable to my Xbox?
