Do you actually use those paper toilet seat covers in public restrooms? Does paper that thin really protect you from any germs you might find there?

If they are in there I will use them and if they arent I hover. I dont know if they are protection enough but I dont like the fact that someone elses ass has been on the seat I am about to place mine upon.

I used to but from what I've read you can't really catch anything too bad from a toilet seat except in the most bizarre situations maybe, so I don't worry about it all that much.

I use them, and if they don't have them, depending on how badly I have to go, I'll either make one with toilet paper, or I'll hover. If one of my kids has to go, I hold them under their arms, and have them bend their legs like they are sitting and have them go that way so they aren't touching the toilet in any way. I have a public toilet phobia, as far as my kids are concerned.

I never do. If a toilet seat looks dirty I just use the next one. It seems like a waste of paper to use the seat covers on a clean seat. Are there supposed to be consequences of sitting directly on the toilet seat? I don't know of any...

all the time who wants to sit on other peoples waste. just because it looks clean doesn't mean it is. never mind craps and what ever else is on there from the 1000 people who used it before we do. lots of toilet paper the softer the better.

there have been studies on bacteria and the toilet seats of new york subway systems and the keyboards in the public library are dirtier and covered in urine and feces because people use the bathroom and dont wash up and a toilet seat is cleaner than a public keyboard believe it or not...........Gotcha thinkin didnt i

Yes I do as every little bit helps. And I also use a paper towel to turn on and OFF the taps of water and to open the door to get out of the restroom because I've noticed that very few people wash their hands coming out of the restroom.
