I can't find any reference to icths.exe as being a potentially dangerous program. Can you give more details.

It also appears on my toolbar beside my clock giving me a warning message about a trojan virus, then when i click on it it just brings to me another anti-virus software website, i tried to run spybot and i have nortan anit virus software but both were unable to detect it. oh ye there was a new tollbar on my internet explorer which was more or less a link to a similar website. Thanks for getting back to me

It sounds like a virus. Many viruses try to get you to download malicious "anti-Virus" software which just infects your computer. Download Spybot Search and Destroy and run a full scan with your anti-Virus scanner (what scanner are you using? lets hope its actually a real anti-Virus solution). I can't find any precise info on icthis.exe, but it sounds like a backdoor. What it's essentially doing is keeping a port open on your computer, keeping your antivirus/spyware programs from detecting it, and downloading lots of nasty spyware bits onto your machine for your viewing displeasure. What you want to do is kill icthis.exe in your list of running processes (task manager, open the list of processes, find icthis.exe and end that process). Now that the process isn't running, you *should* be able to delete it from your machine. Send it to the recyle bin, and empty the recycle bin. Now, go to your start menu and run msconfig. Go to the startup tab and make sure the box next to icthis.exe is NOT checked. Next, you can remove the registry entries made by icthis.exe which can be found using your registry editor(start>run>regedit). Look in the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>software>microsoft>windows>currentversion>run *WARNING* modifying your registry can damage or permanently disable your computer (not really, but it can screw it up and make your day not-so-lovely) so don't change ANYTHING unless you are absolutely sure you know what you're doing. Under currentversion>run look for any strings that point to "icthis.exe". If it has "icthis.exe" in it, delete it. If not, leave it alone. Like one of the other answerers said, Don't trust any program that just shows up on your machine and offers to install itself. There are many programs that masquerade as windows error or warning messages that say things like "such and such has detected a threat running on your computer. Click here to install such and such and delete this threat". REAL antivirus and antispyware software companies don't need to do this, because people seek out their product because it works. Don't click on stuff like this. In fact, it's best to disable popups altogether when browsing the internet. Make sure you have a reliable antivirus program. I use AVG (www.grisoft.com) with Windows Defender (www.microsoft.com) for spyware protection. You can download ZoneAlarm's FREE version of their firewall program (make sure the firewall on your router is enabled as well, if you have one) from www.zonealarm.com. It'll keep pretty much anything from messing with you. All you have to do is configure it to allow access to the programs you use on the internet (browser, email software, instant messengers, etc) and it'll block everything else. I've been spyware and virus free for almost TWO YEARS, and counting. Do some google searches for related topics like "trojan viruses" "worms" "malware" or "keep my computer protected from viruses". Once you learn what these malicious programs ARE, what they're intended to do, and how they work - it's pretty easy to avoid them.

I had exactly the same problem a while ago where I was being redirected to a Virus Software program site and kept getting the balloon warning me about viruses. The only way I got rid of was to enlist the help of my partner and he cleaned the registry for me, but as Hellfirespawn666 said only do it if you're confident you know what your doing.
