Well I think there are too many "conversational" questions around and not enough educational questions. They can work on getting that balance right

I don't really know, how about other ways to earn points or lower the point system a little to reach the next level etc -- just a thought..

By becoming more understanding and accepting that we all have different opinions and ideas, that we really can not help each other by fighting over who is right or who is wrong, but by combining out opinions and ideas to come up with a more universal meaning. The site is only as strong and good as it's members.

If some people stopped calling others foul names it would be a start. Also an automated response to 'Could I be pregnant' questions along the lines of, "Of course you could." and keeping the questions off the main page.

Private messaging is a good idea, but could turn into chat rooms very soon.

I think there should be a "lock comment thread" option for the mods or the Community Leaders - so that if arguments get out of hand that particular comment thread is locked and the arguers have to take it outside - not censorship - just forcing people to take a step back and calm down. And there should be a seperate "chat" category so that the serious questions don't get buried- one of my endless frustrations is when "What's your favorite colour?" gets 603 answers but a question I really want to know the answer to just sinks without trace because the homepage is taken up with more chatty stuff - nothing wrong with the chatty stuff, it's just taht there are people here who really need help with something. Personally I quite liked the old system where only questions that had been checked by the mods appeared on the front page - the questions were still available to look at and answer straight away- but it would take some of the crap and potentially offensive stuff off the homepage so that it didn't scare new users away.

Add spell check to "Add an Answer".
