Emma is sick of ignorant bullies

because people's genuine grief has been hijacked(sorry) by opportunists who have used it to carry out atrocities on a scale 10000 times worse than 9-11. I think people are starting to realise that.

When I was growing up, most of the world looked up to the United States. Since 9/11 and our government's 'cowboy diplomacy' around the world, the U.S. is looked down on by most countries around the world as brutal, bullying Imperialists. Since 9/11, the government has installed The Patriot Act, Homeland Security, absolved Habeus Corpus, and installed spying techniques on our citizens. Our founding fathers are surely turning over in their graves.

America was caught with its pants down, when 911 occurred.

The Super Power of the planet had been attacked, leaving Americans and the world in a state of shock.

It was like the attack of Pearl Harbor. this would never have happened, if key personnel had not been asleep.

Is the world a worse place, since 911?

It depends on your point of view. yes, the world now looks at America as vulnerable. and, this situation gives the rest of the world a sense of fright. the Super Power was tarnished and is having a hard time recovering.

I believe the world looks at America in a different light now, than before 911.

Its like having an auto accident in a brand new car. the damages may be repaired, but inside, the owner knows his new automobile will never be the same.

i thought it was getting better.
i mean from what i hear, we are fighting against terrorism. one day there will be no more terrorism because it will be eradicated. i don't know how it will become eradicated.... maybe by killing. all i know is what i hear on the news and radio.

    puke.

If it is a worse place then it is so only because we have certain leaders who like to prolong a senseless war..much like continuing to pick at a scab when you really should just let it heal.

We could have quickly recovered from the loss. We would have continued to mourn the victims of such a senseless act and rebuilt better than before. Instead our "leaders" started two wars lost all moral authority, and the world looked at us with disdain and the growing belief that we got what we deserved.

Of course the world is a worse place especially since the perpetrators on both sides were not punished. Our government should have been stripped down to the speaker of the House, Bin Laden should have been killed and captured and Saudi Arabia should have been ostracised until it stopped financially supporting these extremist groups.

Because 9/11 was a trigger for war.

The world became a worse place after Britian declared war on Germany, however by declaring war on Germany, Britian and the Allies was able to (attempt to) lay the foundations for creating a better world.

Things get worse before they get better.

Compared to what? What was so idyllic about the world before 9/11. If the world is worse, and I do not believe it is, but if it is worse it might be because 9/11 demonstrated that the Western World is no longer certain about the difference between good and evil and is paralysed by that doubt.
