    Never! As long as it's a sincere apology, I'm sure it's always appreciated as well as accepted w/a whole lotta forgiveness. :)

    No never, unfortunately its often put off because its one of the three hardest tasks:

    * returning love for hate
    * including the excluded, and saying
    * I was wrong

    It's NEVER too late. I just tried last year to apologize to my former husbands mistress of 14 years ago but she left the state. It would have been nice if I could've said I'm sorry

    After you have harmed someone. What i mean is, that, hopefully I don't do the thing in the first place. Apologies are fairly meaningless unless i change my behaviour.

    It's never too late unless one of you is dead. Even if you think the other person won't accept it be the bigger person and apologize. If they don't accept that is on them.

    Never too late to apologize. Just don't wait until the person has passed on. You just never know when that could happen...so the sooner the better!

    Yes. When someone dies, they aren't going to be around to hear it, so anytime before that's good.

    Absolutely...

    The most obvious case is if they die before you apologise - then it's too late.

    I also think that although (unless they die) you are always capable of apologising, at a certain point it becomes so obviously meaningless that it can be deemed 'too late'.

    For example, if you were the cause of an accident that ended up dismembering someone, but you waited 50 years before apologising... That's just meaningless... (Well, if it were done to me at least : P )

    Apologising as quickly as possible is usually your best bet.

    When you apologized before for the same behavior.

    If you are doing that you haven't learned a damn thing.

    Apologies don't mean "feel better about this so I can do it to you again."

    So it is too little too late.

    when they apologize first. Then it'll seem like you are only saying sorry to meet them halfway instead of it being a genuine feeling of remorse.

    To appologise at the earliest is the best, but never too late to appologise when we realise we are at the wrong. It will clear our conscience.

    It's never too late. We all crave forgiveness and sometimes we have to eat crow when we ask for forgiveness. We have to be sincere in our apologies and not make empty apologies just to appease someone. Even if we wronged someone years ago, that person should appreciate an apology as a sign that we are more mature, intelligent, and more caring of others.

    I'm going to disagree with the majority here and say that it is too late to apologize when the party you've hurt/offended no longer wants to hear it. You have no right to force them to listen to an apology that is, at that point, not made for THEM, but for YOURSELF.

    I wouldn't think it is ever too late; however, the person may not be willing/able to accept your apology if it has been too long.
