Body builders, scantily clad men in women's mags, and men in gay mags so far as I have seen, are all shaved, oiled, and smooth. Yet most men are, to some extent, hairy. Do women prefer men smooth or hairy?

On a personal level I can't say it's something that really comes that high on my priorities list - I suppose if someone was very very hairy that might be off-putting, but otherwise I have no preference. I know of a few women who dislike very hairy men, and some who say they prefer hair - I haven't yet met any woman who says they prefer men smooth - which is odd, as I've noticed what you've noticed too. I do wonder whether it's a bit like the fake boobs thing (Most men I know say they prefer real ones and aren't fussed on size, yet somehow mens mags are still generally dominated by big boobs, that are often fake.) I think perhaps smooth skin does look better in a photograph - you can see the muscle definition better, you don't have to worry about the hair looking messy or just "wrong" (tatoos are tricky in photographs too because they tend to look splodgy so I imagine hair might have the same trouble). I also think we sometimes divide people we find attractive into "people that look good in a magazine" and "people we actually want to do it with in real life." That probably didn't really help did it? Sorry.

Personally i like a little bit of hair.. like a happy trail.. some hairy faces are good.. long hair on the head.. and a little pubic hair is alright.. leg hair is i guess a given LOL..

I used to be the type who always wanted the clean shaved man, or waxed man. I hated a hairy chest, and a hairy hairy man. I met a guy who in the beginning wwho used to shave is chest or shall I say trim it clean, and he maintained it well. He then started to let it get hairy, and eventually I got used to it. Now I really dont care as long as hes clean and takes care of his body. Hygiene is highly important. Body hair, its a part of life I learned to deal with it. Remember a note to all men : Sometimes your lady will want to go without shaving their legs, would you reject them for it. Heck no..lol.. Once you find someone you truly care about body hair is going to be the tiniest thing worried about on the list..

hairy... but not too hairy :) when i was younger, body hair on boys grossed me out but now i kinda like it. only on the chest, arms, legs etc. hair backs are not a favourite of mine.

moderately hairy is how i'd describe myself. by the grace of God and the hair-princess, i have no hairy patches on my back. it works. i've worn my head hair long (70s hippy) to short (08 like a state trooper - i'm not!). i think that women i've been with have really preferred me with somewhat long head hair, down just below my shoulders.

I doubt it, its more of a preference to the person who shaves really. I'm a heterosexual male and I shave most of my body; primarily because of sports but I like the feel more than when I'm hairy. I've asked girls this kind of question and they say they don't care, it depends on what you think looks better on you...

I prefer a man in his natural state. But,I don't like hair on the back or shoulders. The only part on a mans body I don't mind him shaving is his face and under his arms.
