  • My daughters in to animal rights & I'd love to know who refuses to wear fur
  • Me. I am a wannabe and I wear real fur. Sorry about the fact that the fur also currently covers the cat as well and the cat if still using the fur. Sorry that was a bit silly. But I wonder - here in Australia Foxes are vermin. They cause a lot of damage to native wildlife and domestic animals. Foxes are not native to Australia and (unfortunatley) not in any danger of becoming extinct here...can I wear their fur? They are going to be shot anyway (or baited) (or hit by cars). Same with rabbit fur here in Australia. Rabbits are not native and we use myxo and calci and baiting and shooting to cull them - can I wear their fur? What I am trying to find out is - I can understand and agree with not wearing fur from animals that are endangered and roaming free in their natural habitat. But what about recognised vermin?
  • To Empress of the Known Universe -- there is nothing wrong with wearing fur. Endangered species are NOT used. Coats made from the spotted and striped cats such as tiger, jaguar, leopard, ocelot, etc, are a thing of the past, and anyone who tried to sell one to you today would risk a hefty fine or prison term. Buy that fox or rabbit fur and enjoy it! Why would anyone care if a celebrity or anyone, for that matter, wore fur. It's a matter of personal choice and pales into insignificance when compared with the problems our world is now facing. This questions reeks too much of stalking and forcing of one's personal views upon another like some unwelcome missionary from an unpopular cult.
