Pains in the left side of the upper left chest. I went to the doc recently and told me my pains had nothing to do with heart problems. How can he know this without stress echocardiogram? I had an EKG which came out normal

ECG measures the exact way your heart is beating. They can tell if you've had a heart attack, a pacemaker, anything to do with the heart. If it came out normal it can't be your heart. Could be lungs. Or have you thought that it could be referred pain from your back. I get pinching in my ribs all the time from my back being out of alignment. If it was heart related it would be more like a radiating ache and it might extend down your arm. If it's sharp stabbing pain it's more likely to be lungs (pleura) or rib pain.
