Correct, the Linux box needs to have the Samba package installed. I seem to recall it not being installed by default in Man10, that I had to dig thru the package list to put it in.When run as a service in Linux, it'll look just like a win box to the other pc's on the Lan. I also recall having some issues regarding my set up of the Nics and router on the linux box. There was a compatibility issue with the router. Get all the info on the hardware you can, and check the Man Pages for compatibility before laying out any dough. Sorry can't be any more help, I've stopped using Linux, too much of a pain to configure.

As long as everyone can see the internet, and the windows boxes are able to see each other, I think your linux box needs to be running a service called "Samba" which will allow you to communicate with the windows boxes. Never tried it myself.

    Try searching for Samba at
