In "A New Hope," what happens to Obi-Wan's body when Darth Vader kills him?

    The same thing that happened to Yoda's body when he died in Return of the Jedi. Apparently, Qwigon Jin discovered a way to retain his consciousness when he joined the force in death. He passed this knowledge on to Yoda and Obi-Wan. Their bodies completely vaporized when they died and they joined the force. (Qwigon's didn't vaporize because, when he died, he hadn't yet fully master this knowledge.)
