If you're still inside the (extended) warranty period, send the console in to Microsoft for free repair or exchange.
If you're outside the warranty period and you want to fix your XBOX 360 yourself, get a repair guide online. Don't be fooled by stupid advice like the "towel trick", you'll risk damaging your console.
Some repair guides come with HD video tutorials that show you step-by-step how you'll get your XBOX repaired. Other guides are simply PDF ebooks that illustrate the repair process with text and images.

Have you tried the towel trick? Its only a temporary fix, usually only works for a short time, with a longest about a week or 2, before the RROD comes back, but you can just keep on doing that.

Try disconnecting everything from the console and the reconnecting it making sure that it is completely and firmly connected. I had that problem the first day I got the console. I called Xbox customer support and they told me that it had something to do with hardware connection. Mine still didn't work after that though sop I had to send it back to the store and exchange it for a new one.

it happened to me on xmas day and my warrenty is done. i called up xbox and they are sending me a new one (after i send my old one to them). a buddy of mine said they are replacing them even if your warrenty expired. and he was right. they didnt ask me for my reciept or anything. hopefully ill get it back soon.

My Xbox 360 is making really loud whirring noises whenever I put a disc in. Is it something to do with the disc drive, or something else?

My xbox 360 blinks red in 1 and 3 after its only been on for about 5-10 mins..I have to unplug it to get it to shut off? Please help!
