Henderson seems to be where everyone is living right now, on the outskirts of Vegas. It's a benefit to your sister that the ridiculous, outrageous housing bubble that existed there a couple years ago has just burst, so she should be able to find a good place. Still, when we were looking at Vegas as a place to live we found it rather depressing. Turns out there's not a whole lot of community beyond the strip. Good luck to her.
I have a one bedroom town home with a den. I am looking for someone to take over my 10 month lease due to a separation. It has a spacious bath and walk-in closet in the bedroom. There is a two car garage with washer/dryer hook ups. It has a back patio with a security fence and a fire place in the living room. There is no deposit required, mine will carry over for you, and rent is 850 a month. Please let me know if you are interested. My email is margaretsback@hotmail.com.
I'll second Henderson. I know someone there and he says it isn't nearly as crazy as Vegas itself. :)

You're reading My sister-in-law is moving to Las Vegas for work. Any advice for a good area to start out living in?

Thanks, her work is moving her out there for a couple years. I've heard a lot of people say that it's not exactly the most inspirational place to live though.

Well, I live in the tourist ghetto of Kissimmee, Florida, and even I found it depressing. However, the desert is beautiful and it all comes down to the friends you make. Good luck to her.
