It is unfair that they changed the rules on her, but then I suppose they weren't aware she was trying to qualify when they changed them. As for the rule changes, I think they are fair.
no not really. the govt needs to start being tough on immigration as its becoming a major issue in this country.
As far as I remember, it is the same for people from the UK wishing to become US citizens.
Nothing is fair.
In my idea world, I would like to see a closer relationships between the countries of the English-speaking world - UK, America, Canada, Australia etc that would allow us all to move and work much more freely between each others countries, and make it easier to take citizenship in the other countries. That would allow workers - who all share the same language, after all - great opportunities, and I don't feel it would be at all one-sided. I have seen plenty of Americans expressing a desire to live and work in the UK, and vice versa. We would all have to iron out similar immigration policies first, though.
Can you get arrested for this?

You're reading My friend is Americian. To become a UK citizen she has to have lived in the UK for 5 years and not have left the country for more than 6 months in total and not more than 3 months in any one year. Do you think this is unfair?
