Boxed pancake mixes include "dried eggs" and/or milk products. They have the same ingredients as required for any pancake recipe including flour, salt, baking powder and sometimes sugar.
-
They contain sugar, salt, flour, baking soda and artificial flavours. Some contain nuts or marshmallows, sprinkles, and food color.

The answers above are correct. But the funny thing is, when cake mixes first came out, all you had to add to them was water. They sold very poorly. It turned out that women felt like they weren't "making something for their family" when all they added was water, so the manufacturers eventually removed the ingredients you mentioned so that the women would feel like they were more involved in "making the cake."

If you made a cake you would put in flour, sugar, egg and water. They put in everything else until you only have to put in one cup of water,a egg and a tablespoon of sugar.(etc.)
