First rule of training any animal, and that includes human animals as well:
"Behavior that is rewarded is repeated."

Your partner has been mean to you, and obviously got what he wanted. In fact, you may have been extra nice to him, to try to get him to be nicer. So what was reinforced was that, if he is mean to you, you do what he wants. There is nothing there which will motivate him not to do it again.

"Treat others how you want to be treated" only works if you have sympathy with others to begin with. If you are focussed only on yourself, you will react as any animal reacts, and not care about anything but the results for *you*.

He/She has learned to take you for granted, and it wont get any better, you just keep doing and doing - I'd say he/she doesn't respect you and does NOT deserve you -- Know When To Walk Away - You sound like a great person - Move on down the road - That's just the way I see it -- Good Luck -- Pattijo
