  • Yes, "aerial" passes are allowed provided there is no player within 5 yards of the person making the pass, for obvious reasons of safety, and provided the ball does not land within the D area (lifting the ball deliberately into the D is an offence). Also, if the pass lands amidst a group of players who compete for the ball in a dangerous manner, the pass itself may be penalised for leading to dangerous play. If it makes a difference to how much credence you give my answer, I play field hockey regularly and hold a low-level umpiring qualification as well.
  • Yea field hockey is a pretty dangerous sport you can get your teeth knocked out.ive been hit in the head and ear and way more places. My friend was doing drag flicks and hit a light and had to replace it. and it was about 30 feet in the air.
