  • G'day Anonymous, Thank you for your question. Much of the authorship of Proverbs is traditionally credited to King Solomon. It was written between 1000BC and 400BC but it could have been compiled as late as 300BC. Its contents and authors include: Proverbs Authors/Collectors 1:1 Solomon 10:1 Solomon 25:1 Solomon (as copied by Hezekiah’s men) 30:1 Agur son of Jakeh 31:1 Lemuel (or his mother) 31:10-31? unknown author? I have attached sources for your reference. • It started with Solomon who is responsible for the majority of the Proverbs. But they never say he "wrote" it. They say he "spoke" the proverbs. SO someone in the court may have been set up to write them down, like a secretary. And also "He made a thorough search, that he might arrange many proverbs in order,” showing that he had an interest in preserving proverbs for later use. So that would be written down during Solomon’s reign (1037-998 B.C.E.). Then there were two other collections and finally the collection made in the reign of Hezekiah (745-717 B.C.E.)
  • During the reign of King Solomon Ca.970-930B.C.
