I am a father of two who has joint custody with primary residencey. I want to get sole custody for a number of reasons. What do i need to show in court to be able to be granted sole custody?

    Sole legal custody, physical custody, or both? To get sole legal custody you would need to show that the mother is unfit. To get sole physical custody you would need to show that it is in the best interest of the child, and that joint physical custody is nearly impossible.

    And FYI: there is a rebbutable presumption that it is in the best interest of the child to have an arrangement where both mom and dad are in the child's life.
