I am sorry Castrate, it is certainly not through choice. We did point out that religious titles were rather strange but we have no say in the matter.
-
No. Why is that strange? Its just a word, its the meaning behind the word which is important, its a compliment. to show that someone is very knowledgable.
-
That is a question that the staff should answer!! Put it in feedback!!
-
Well, did you object to the 'guru' level? That, too, is a religious title. The precedent has been set and you have an uphill battle getting it changed now.

One might say that a professor is a title of significant meaning among educators, but no one in that field has objected. The rankings are just a way of designating the degree of achievement. I certainly would not profess to speak for all Hindus, but I don't think they would be offended...they don't seem to be as politically sensitive as some other groups of people.

Religious titles seem to be popular lately. I just think swami sounds funny.
-
No more strange than calling me a wiz at anything. :)
-
I take no offense to it. I don't think anyone really thought they'd have to keep comming up with more levels to suit Firebrands brain power. I'm more upset about the big problem you seem to have with it.

The word swami means master; it means striving for the mastery over one's smaller self and habit patterns, so that the eternal Self within may come shining through. http://www.swamij.com/what-is-a-swami.htm I find nothing wrong with it.
