If you ask a biblical question, then you should get a biblical answer. The bible tells that the nations were formed from the children of Noah and their children. They all spoke one language. Then these men decided to build the tower of babel to reach the heavens. God saw this and decided to stop it. He spread the people over all over the earth and gave them a different language. Then they went on, living as they did before. Factoid #6- Luke was probably the only person to write about Christ and not see him. He went around asking people about what the saw of Christ.

In Genesis chapter 10, the Bible lists the descendants of Noah and the nations they became. Based on that listing of nations, Noah's son Shem was the ancestor of the Semites (Arabs and Hebrews); Ham was the ancestor of the Africans and Canaanites, and Japheth was the ancestor of the Indo-Europeans. The writer(s) of Genesis did not know of the Chinese or any other people east of India, or of the Americas, hence there is no explanation for them.

Thorough answer to the question from Answers In Genesis: http://answersingenesis.org/Home/Area/AnswersBook/races18.asp I take issue with EJ. Skin color is what we usually have in mind, along with a few other superficial distinctions, when we talk of race. Some people, and I can't say if this is the source of EJ's disagreement, take these distinctions to be associated with more fundamental differences, as though they mark disparate ancestry and evolutionary development. I, and this article, contend that "race", in biological terms, turns out to be an artificial concept. It is culture, not appearances or any other physical differences, which divides people. So the AIG article is thorough, and does indeed answer the question. It deals with the definition of "race", and then gives a Biblical scenario for the development of what we call "races". I fear that EJ downrated because he disagrees with the point of view.

There are reasons why certain animals live where they live and why you don’t find lizards in the North Pole. The reason is survival through evolutionary traits these animals (and plants and incects) are suited to live in cretin climate types. The notion that they gathered in one centrally located spot is preposterous! Most of species would have died during the great journey and the rest simply wouldn’t make It there do to geographical issues. Now this animals two by two theory would be plausible if all that was on the earth now were birds and fish. But a polar bear could not make the journey and sustain him self due to the amount of food they require to just live on a day to day basis (let alone a journey of that proportion). And the majority of plants we have here today would not survive being submerged under water I.E. plants require oxygen and sunlight to photosynthesize. The daisies you have festering in your back yard are proof that a worldwide flood did not take place. (this is not to suggest that flooding did not happen at all) there are many accounts of great floods in many cultures. But great rain storms are created by water on earth evaporating and going into the atmosphere and gathering and becoming so heavy that it falls back to earth. So in order for that type of planetary scale flood there would have to have been a planetary heat wave (witch the bible makes no mention of) to create that much evaporated water to flood the earth. And where did the water come from? they can only find traces of it in space! further more It is impossible that the amount of races we have today were created from a few related DNA strands. There is no mention of Chinese or aborigine crewmen on this great boat… so where did they come from were there other boats? Was their a Native American boat? And if so where is it documented? The truth is unless you have a granddad that’s thousands of years old you’ll never know for sure but science and common cense suggests otherwise.

Two ways. 1) Genetic mutation would play a part in differences in body shape/size, hair colour, facial shape. 2) Macro-evolution/adaptation has more to do with little things like skin colour/texture and facial hair (or lack thereof). There aren't really "other races", just subgroups with minor physical differences.

I hesitate to answer due to the bad ratings I will recieve from the idiotic christians who fail to believe scientific fact, but I must answer. There is a load of geological evidence that the "great flood" never happened. In order to cover the earth in water there must be essentially that water already on earth. so right there shows it is impossible. As for floods there was a huge flood in mesopotamia, mentioned in THE EPIC OF GILGAMESH. Almost verbatim is the biblical story of noah. So there for Noah and his family were never even in a flood. Races developed on their own.
-
No one knows for sure. That's the best answer anyone can give you. Otherwise, it's mere speculation as to how the races developed.

The truth is that extraterrestrials destroyed the tower. The Elohim are those extraterrestrials and many differences came about the Human Race as a result of further dna manipulation. Obviously they saw us as a threat. An all mighty "God" wouldn't need to do such a thing. Humans used to be very advanced. You have heard of the lost city of Atlantis for example. Rumor has it that humans figured out, or were very close to figuring out how to build crafts that would launch into space, things that these aliens saw as a threat. So they destroyed the tower, which is said to have been a launching site. Who knows, many things are possible.

incest, that climate.

People tend to be attracted to people that look like themselves. I have blond hair and blue eyes, so I tend to be attracted to blond/blue girls. Races formed by people being attracted to similar qualities that essentially bred out different characteristics. It takes time, but not very much. After about 400 years, blacks in America are rather pale in comparison to their African relatives. Climate is largely responsible for that.

If your serious about an answer to your question, I think the following information might interest you. “All men living today belong to a single species, Homo sapiens, and are derived from a common stock. . . . Biological differences between human beings are due to differences in hereditary constitution and to the influence of the environment on this genetic potential. In most cases, those differences are due to the interaction of these two sets of factors. . . . Differences between individuals within a race or within a population are often greater than the average differences between races or populations.”—An international body of scientists convened by UNESCO, quoted in Statement on Race (New York, 1972, third ed.), Ashley Montagu, pp. 149, 150.

If your looking for a Scriptureal answer then read the following texts. Gen. 5:1, 2; 1:28: “In the day of God’s creating Adam he made him in the likeness of God. Male and female he created them. After that he blessed them and called their name Man [or, Mankind] in the day of their being created.” “God blessed them and God said to them: ‘Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth.’” (Thus all mankind are descendants of that first human pair, Adam and Eve.) Acts 17:26: “[God] made out of one man [Adam] every nation of men, to dwell upon the entire surface of the earth.” (So, regardless of what races make up a nation, they all are offspring of Adam.) Gen. 9:18, 19: “Noah’s sons who came out of the ark were Shem and Ham and Japheth. . . . These three were Noah’s sons, and from these was all the earth’s population spread abroad.” (After God destroyed the ungodly world by means of a global flood in Noah’s day, the earth’s new population, including all the races known today, developed from the offspring of Noah’s three sons and their wives.)
-
Easy, there was no great flood. It's nothing more than a myth, a fairy tale, a story. It never happened.
-
evolution. oh, and humans have only been around for 200,000 years. There have been animals on Earth for 751 million years
-
The logical answer would be that the flood didn't wipe out the entire population of the earth, just that particular section of people. Also, I'm pretty sure incest is frowned upon in the bible.

Mr Mc colister This is in response to your post about the supposed contradiction between the Bible and modern science. In the book of Genesis, we read that thousands of years ago the wickedness of men was so great that God determined to destroy them. However, he instructed Noah to build an ark. Then God brought a flood upon mankind. Only Noah and his family survived, together with representatives of all the animal species. The Flood was so great that “all the tall mountains that were under the whole heavens came to be covered. Where did all the water come from to cover the whole earth? The Bible answers. Early in the creation process, when the expanse of the atmosphere began to take shape, there came to be “waters .. beneath the expanse” and “ waters . . above the expanse.” When the Flood came, the Bible says: “ The floodgates of the heavens were opened.” Evidently, the “waters . above the expanse” fell and provided much of the water for the inundation. Further, The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: “The average depth of all the seas has been estimated at (12,430 feet), a figure considerably larger than that of the average elevation of the land above the sea level, which is (2,760 feet). Therefore, if the average depth is multiplied by its respective surface area, the volume of the World Ocean is 11 times the volume of the land above sea level.” So, if everything were leveled out—if the mountains were flattened and the deep sea basins filled in—the sea would cover the whole earth to a depth of thousands of meters.

Certain people were marked by god for their sins and they passed the mark along to their children and that created all the different races.

American Indians have a traditional belief that it takes 12 generations to make a change in humanity. Not that long in the scheme of things.

Because storys like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and about Noah and the Ark are not intended to be taken literally. They are allgories, cautionary tales, passed from father to son orally for countless generations, then written and re-written until it's virtually impossible to determine fact from fiction and even who wrote them down. The insistence by some people on a literal interpretation of every word in the Bible is not only impractical, it's impossible. The Bible is full of contradictions and culturally based admonitions that have no relevance outside of ancient Hebrew societies. This is one reason so many people who choose to actually think will have little or nothing to do with Christianity. If we would just stick to the core of the Bible, instead of warring over things that are largely irrelevant, we would be miles ahead.

To answer this question we first need to establish your belief in the Adam & Eve story. The world is populated by their children. By the way, The Grand Canyon is only 6000 years old and dinosaur fossils are a conspiracy theory.
