  • The Lutheran Church is a branch of the Christian church, meaning that they confess and recognize Jesus Christ as God and savior. The Church came into being following the attempt of Dr. Martin Luther to reform the Roman Catholic Church almost 500 years ago. When this attempt failed those who believed as Dr. Luther became the Lutheran Church. Their theology was simply a return to the core teachings of the Holy Bible and a rejection of the additions and rituals that had been added by various religious leaders over time. Core teachings that include: -God is three persons in one being (the Holy Trinity) Those three persons are: God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. -God created everything and everyone. -God loves all of his creation. -God sent Jesus Christ to earth to save all of mankind so that everyone who is willing may spend eternity with God in heaven. -Salvation is a free gift that one cannot earn, only accept and appreciate.
